Chioma Nwabuoku is a conscientious and self-motivated individual with great enthusiasm and determination to succeed; Hard working, reliable and resourceful, with excellent organizational and staff management skills, combined with the ability to prioritize a substantial workload. Professionally, Chioma is a qualified Human Resource Professional with extensive work experience, a Bachelor’s degree in History and Post-graduate degree in Public Administration, fluent in oral and written English and French. A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and exposed to training experiences both local and overseas with intensive exposure to Head office leadership/management training programs with other colleagues from around the world. These were training programs run internally by the different global multinationals that she worked for. She has had trainings in culture change management and chaired different committees.
These attributes, qualifications and experience have shaped her ability to effectively drive core “People Initiatives” in organizations including; Change/Transition Management, Manpower Planning, Competency Development, Motivational and Reward Schemes, internal Communication Strategy initiatives, Culture Change program development and entrenchment, Talent Identification, Succession Planning, Mentoring, Policy Development Planning and General Administration experience.
In 2015, Chioma transitioned from paid employment into entrepreneurship, with focus on Agricultural business – processing and packaging Dumchi brand of products. Dumchi Fisheries and Foods was set up in 2012 but operations commenced in 2013. Dumchi Fisheries and Foods has a range of products from packaged eggs to freshly made Ijebu/Bendel garri to crunchy flavoured garri in coconut and pineapple flavours; fresh croaker and titus to smoked fish, soot free and freshly smoked with our smoking kiln. Fresh snails and palm oil, all inclusive. The Company supplies Nigerian snacks such as varieties of chinchin and Akara chips. It also has a bakery and a range of freshly baked bread, rising to every occasion.
Leading the team at Dumchi and developing strategies to drive business growth has been a very intensive entrepreneurial learning experience and most rewarding. Chioma’s experience with global multinationals like Colgate-Palmolive as HR Manager Nigeria, Air Liquide as HR manager West and Central Africa based in Abidjan and covering 11 Countries, GlaxoSmithKline as HR Director and also her experience in the banking industry –Diamond Bank Plc and Enterprise Bank Limited respectively, as Lead HR (General Manager position), have all helped her to acquire those competencies that now enable her to drive business processes and growth as an entrepreneur today.
